If you have Wi-Fi, you're in trouble

When my friend recently asked what it means if their cellular account is hacked, I had to stress the seriousness of the situation. If your account is hacked, the first step is usually to change your password, but that's just the beginning. Many people, including you, are guilty of using the same password across multiple accounts. So, if a hacker gets your password for one account, they likely have access to others as well. This means your email, social media, banking, and other sensitive accounts could be at risk. Now you are forced to have to remember all the places you use this credentials to change. It seems though that there is a data breach every week,so you'll just start changing your passwords weekly?Don't think so. Like adding propane to a burning building, the breach happening to your cellular carrier means they already have your phone numbers. Verizon, T-Mobile, and now AT&T -allhacked and breached in 2023, and again in 2024- and we are only at the halfway mark. Over 250 Million exposed.

No device of yours is secured

Hackers can do more than just spy on your conversations. For instance, they could access your home security cameras. With your username and password, they can view your Ring cameras, learning when you're not home and planning a break-in. It’s not just about privacy; it’s a real safety threat. Just a few weeks ago in Pasadena, California - a world renowned card collector had all of his collection stolen. All the gun safes, removed. How? Weren't these under surveillance 24/7?Yes,the criminals hacked the entire Ring security systemto allow them ample time to remove the heavily fortified safes. These smart home devices provide you with a false sense of security. The real security starts with you.

It only takes 1 hacked device to ruin your families world

It gets worse. Hackers can break into your home router, the gateway for all your devices. Even if you think your router's password is strong, hackers can crack it in minutes or buy it off the dark web. Guests using your Wi-Fi, like neighbors or repairmen, could also pose a risk if you don’t change your password regularly.

Hackers gaining control of your router can compromise all devices connected to your home network. They could steal personal data, eavesdrop on your activity, and even use your network to commit crimes. Imagine the FBI showing up because your Wi-Fi was used for illegal activities. It’s a nightmare scenario that’s happened before.
